COLOURLOCK "Nubuk Fresh" (Mercedes-Benz) — Mercedes-Benz Suede Care

COLOURLOCK Nubuk Fresh for Mercedes-Benz: specialized suede and nubuck leather care

What is COLOURLOCK Nubuk Fresh for Mercedes-Benz? — The specialized suede and nubuck care preserves the structure and color of rough natural leathers in Mercedes-Benz interiors — specially developed for velour, nubuck, and Alcantara.

COLOURLOCK Nubuk Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) is a special care dye for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Mercedes-Benz leather interiors. Unlike Leather Colour or Leather Fresh, Nubuk Fresh is not intended for smooth pigmented leather — the formulation is designed to preserve the fine fiber structure of suede and prevent matting.

Suede-specific – Specially formulated for rough-textured natural leathers.
Preserves velour appearance – Prevents matting or smoothing of the fibers.
Original Mercedes-Benz colors – Factory-accurate pigmentation for seamless care.

💡 Detailing1 Workshop Practical Tip: With Mercedes-Benz suede seats, we often see the same user error — customers treat the suede with normal smooth leather care, which then mats the fibers and makes them look flattened. With Nubuk Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) and a fine brass brush in 5 minutes of care, the typical velour appearance is preserved. After drying, lightly brush again — then the fibers will be velvety again.

Brush dry, spray, work in fiber direction

Nubuk Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) is sprayed evenly onto the suede from a distance of 20–30 cm with a spray bottle and worked into the fiber direction with a soft brush. After drying, brush again for the typical velour look.

Before care, the suede is dry-brushed with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush to remove dust and ingrained dirt. Then, it is damp-cleaned with a special suede cleaner and allowed to dry completely. Only then is Nubuk Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) sprayed from a distance of 20–30 cm — avoid puddles, spread immediately.

The color is worked into the fiber direction with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush until the pigmentation is evenly distributed. After 30–45 minutes of drying, the leather is lightly brushed again so that the fibers stand up and the typical velvety-matte velour appearance is created. A 250 ml bottle is sufficient for about 4–5 care applications in mid-range vehicles with Alcantara steering wheel and suede seats.

Suede and velour yes, smooth leather no

Nubuk Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leathers — suede, nubuck, velour, and Alcantara. Pigmented Mercedes-Benz smooth leathers are treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.

The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes combines with the rough fiber structure without matting or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuk Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing — the care would appear patchy rather than even. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.

If the Mercedes-Benz vehicle has genuine suede seats, an Alcantara steering wheel, or velour door panels, Nubuk Fresh is the only correct care product. If the interior, however, consists of pigmented smooth leather, Leather Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) or Leather Colour (Mercedes-Benz) is used. For mixed equipment (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.

For suede seats and Alcantara steering wheels

Nubuk Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) is the care solution for owners and detailers with genuine suede or Alcantara components — applied every 6–12 months, it keeps the leather permanently velvety and color-stable.

Suede and velour leather get dirty faster than smooth leather and fade more under UV light. The care routine every 6–12 months prevents deep penetration of dirt and protects the fiber from permanent fading. For heavily used vehicles or family cars, a 3-month rhythm is also worthwhile. One application takes about 45 minutes per pair of seats, including brushing and drying — costs per application are around 6 euros in material costs.

For pigmented smooth leather components in the same vehicle, Leather Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) is used — both products complement each other in the workflow. Those looking for a complete care bundle for suede and smooth leather can also check out the Leather Care Set (Mercedes-Benz), which contains both components.

What is COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Mercedes-Benz?

COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) is a specialized recoloring product for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Mercedes-Benz interiors. It maintains the structure and color without sticking the fibers together.

Does Nubuck Fresh also work on smooth leather?

No, Nubuck Fresh is formulated exclusively for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour. On pigmented smooth leather, it would appear uneven – for those, Leather Colour or Leather Fresh (Mercedes-Benz) should be used.

How do I apply Nubuck Fresh correctly?

First, dry brush the suede and clean it with suede cleaner. Spray Nubuck Fresh evenly from a distance of 20–30 cm. Work it in with a soft suede brush or a fine brass brush. Let it dry, then brush again for a velvety look.

How often should I apply suede care?

As a care routine, every 6–12 months. For frequent drivers, family vehicles, or lease returns, also every 3–6 months, as suede gets dirty and fades faster than smooth leather.

What are the most common mistakes we see?

Three classics: (1) Using smooth leather care on suede – fibers stick together. (2) Not dusting/brushing beforehand – color becomes uneven. (3) Not brushing after drying – velour look remains flat.

Do I need special brushes?

Yes, a soft suede brush (crepe/natural rubber) or fine brass brush is essential. Normal cleaning cloths would press the fibers down instead of lifting them. Brushes are available as accessories from us.
